Today we are talking about atomic habits by James Clear, which is all about the power and process of building good habits and breaking bad ones.
But, before we get back to talking about that, I'm going to tell you about the author!
-Talking about the author-
James Clear has spent years researching Habits and Decision-making. James was known at first through a News letter that eventually grew to 100,000 subscribers in just two years. To this day his work is regularly published in The New York Times, Forbes, and Business Insider. He also speaks to leading companies about the science of habit formation, behavior change, and improvement.

-Inside of the Book-
now, we can continue to the inside of this book. In this section I want to tell you three (3) parts of this book that personally interested me!

 1. First, forget about goals and focus on the system
This section explains that goals and systems are two different things. Goals are the results we want to achieve, but systems are the processes that lead and bring us to those results. James Clear reminds us to focus on build systems, which can bring us closer to our goals.
Example: For example, of course every student wants to get first place in their class but, having a goal is not enough! We need a system that can help us achieve our goals. An example of a system here is by studying hard, always making school assignments, and many more. By studying hard, we can get perfect grades and be the winner in the class.

Many people focus on the wrong things. Always focusing on the goal only, not the process needed to get to that point. In fact, goals are about the long-term so we have to focus on the system and those small habits that we do every day.

2.Second How to Build Better Habits in 4 Simple Steps
(I already do these steps!)
According to his book, there are four simple ways to build good habits in life, and remove the bad habits.

1, First, make it obvious
Every action we take is influenced by a stimulus.
For example, if we want to have the habit on playing guitar, if we keep the guitar in the closet, we will never practice. But if we put the guitar in the center of the room, we'll be more reminded to practice. Just like me, I always put my bottle on my study table so that when I'm studying, I always remember and don't forget to drink water.

Second, Make it Attractive
Usually, the more interesting something is, the more likely we will adopt it as a habit. We can use that pleasure to build habits, one way with the temptation bundling. Temptation bundling is done by combining an action that we like with an action that must be done (but we dislike a little).

3.Third, make it Easy
As humans we want to do things that are easy. The more energy we expend, the lazier we become. There are tips and tricks to make difficult habits to be easier! For example:
1.We want to not watch TV after coming home from school, we can unplug the TV or remove the remote battery. We'll be too lazy to turn on the TV and we can use that time to do other things that are more productive.
2. Then, we can change our mindset by choosing alternative actions that are more efficient.
3.And more
In that way, habits become easier to build.

4.And The last, make it satisfying
take even more satisfying actions, in order to build long-term habits.
For example: we can study more diligent, by making some notes about the materials and reading them every day. This can make us understand the subject quickly and we can answer the exercises and tests correctly. From this will come a sense of satisfaction from ourselves.

3.The Secret of Tracking Habits and Self-Control
Removing bad habits and implementing good habits is quite difficult. Especially when we don't see clear the results, may be we'll give up in the middle. That's why it's important to build that sense of satisfaction through other ways such as visual evidence or implementing tracking habits by visually measuring our progress. A simple example is to scratch off a calendar or diary. So, every time we successfully perform the action we can scratch it off.

THE CONCLUSION
(final thoughts)
So what? Here are my reflection and final thoughts
I think this book is really nice and of action-able. Many of the parts are really tactical and we can immediately imagine what we need to do.
But we also have to customize with our personality before doing all the actions or tips that are contained in this book.

Thank you so much for reading this article! 🤍
